Sinopsis
Presented by a magical oven and a descendant of the fairy-tale character Hansel, this cookery show introduces the viewer to some of Japan's traditional sweets, shows how to prepare them from recipes, and reveals the history behind them. From the Kyoto delicacy called minazuki, eaten to ward off the summer heat, to the kashiwa-mochi of Children's Day and the 'plum-branch rice' sweets associated with the historical figure of Sugawara no Michizane.
